By sgmartz in forum Vintage & Pocket watches. SERIAL NUMBER SYSTEM 1940-1966 In 1940, Doxa introduced a 7-digit serial number. This is one year before the official introduction of the US Diver's Doxa in 1967. Here's a classic original orange dial Doxa diver's automatic, made famous by the Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler novels! This is a first generation Doxa diver, with the serial number dating it to 1966, the year the model was introduced at the Basel Watch Fair in Switzerland. Im struggelig finding much information about these online. Neither of them had a serial number or anything other than the Doxa vessel, but I dont know if it should be a serial number there or not. Ive found a couple of pictures of the caseback of two other 'non-t' 300s.
